Summer 2008

For those of you I am about to lose because i have not posted in awhile and for the benefit of my kids to know how crazy life was at this time(since I plan to turn this into a scrapbook!)........Life is crazy!  I am still adjusting to three kids....just when i think i have it down, something changes.  We did two weeks of VBS back to back...which was great for the kids, but just about drove me crazy with something everyday!  They learned about the fruits of the spirit and then did a Power Lab and learned the most important things God gives us the power to do!  I am so thankful for VBS...it is such a fun way for my kids to learn the wonderful awesomeness of God!

Speaking of:  How many of you start your day praying to God?  I wish I could say I always do, BUT I don't.  Brad and I used to pray every morning together, so this weekend I said, "I need you to pray with me in the mornings again!"  Guess what!  He woke me up to pray this morning!  It has made my day so much better!  Don't get me wrong, still have had the same battles,  I am just so much more calm!  (-:  God is so good and faithful!

Other than Vacation Bible School and our day to day life, not much has gone on in the faith filled family!  Isabel has now been creating her own plays that we have been taping, so we will have to post one soon!  She is amazingly talented and I am not just saying that because I am her mom!  Okay, maybe I am!

Hard to believe that there are only 6 more weeks until school starts, but we are enjoying each day to the fullest when it comes to pool, park, and play time!  Next week is Isabel's 7th birthday so there will be plenty of pics to post I am sure!  Also, I finished a book (for those of you who know me, don't faint!) that I need to post about!  Of course, it was a nutrition book!  More to come......

Here is where we have been all week!

Check out that smile on Silas!  We have been learning about the fruits of the spirit at VBS this week...It is the Son Harvest County Fair and the kids are loving it!  Nolan told me on Monday, "Mommy, you know what the fruits of the spirit reminds me of?  We are growing tomatoes and blueberries!"  I love the thoughts that come out of his mouth these days!  What a fun summer we are having....next week we are going to VBS at the church Nolan goes to preschool!

I had to take a picture of Nolan playing with playdough.  I know you can not tell by the picture, but he is my little left brained boy.  If you look in the back of the picture you can see all of the cups lined up and he is separating the dough into equal parts and being very careful and strategic about his playing....made me laugh!

Father's day 2008

Grandpa and Silas

Even though we do not have a picture of our daddy, we spent the day with him. Isabel and Nolan went for donuts in the morning with their daddy & then we went to uncle Jason's and aunt Sheri's house for a cookout with mommy's dad!  We played with our cousins and had a great time!  What a great daddy we have........

Summer has begun

Nolan's last day of preshool with Miss Julie and Miss Dawn.  He is so excited to be in PreK with Miss Julie next year!  She is such a great teacher!

Isabel was so excited finishing first grade!  She came home screaming,"I am a second grader now!"  So hard to believe she will be in second grade.  Second grade is the grade I met my great friend Jennifer and we were BFF's all growing up!  What a great friend!  Thanks Jen for all the great memories from 2nd grade on.......

Conversations between a 4 year old and 7 year old in the car

Nolan: "Will there be a disney world in heaven?"
Isabel: "Of course!  AND it won't cost any money to go!  There will be 10 of them and God has presents waiting for us!"

Their idea of heaven..........

Nolan: "Jesus loves me!"
Isabel begins singing the song
Nolan: "Jesus loves IronMan!"

Amazing the conversations and thoughts that go through my kids heads while we are driving in the car.  They are either incredibly cute or they fight like cats and dogs in the car.
