Summer 2008

For those of you I am about to lose because i have not posted in awhile and for the benefit of my kids to know how crazy life was at this time(since I plan to turn this into a scrapbook!)........Life is crazy!  I am still adjusting to three kids....just when i think i have it down, something changes.  We did two weeks of VBS back to back...which was great for the kids, but just about drove me crazy with something everyday!  They learned about the fruits of the spirit and then did a Power Lab and learned the most important things God gives us the power to do!  I am so thankful for VBS...it is such a fun way for my kids to learn the wonderful awesomeness of God!

Speaking of:  How many of you start your day praying to God?  I wish I could say I always do, BUT I don't.  Brad and I used to pray every morning together, so this weekend I said, "I need you to pray with me in the mornings again!"  Guess what!  He woke me up to pray this morning!  It has made my day so much better!  Don't get me wrong, still have had the same battles,  I am just so much more calm!  (-:  God is so good and faithful!

Other than Vacation Bible School and our day to day life, not much has gone on in the faith filled family!  Isabel has now been creating her own plays that we have been taping, so we will have to post one soon!  She is amazingly talented and I am not just saying that because I am her mom!  Okay, maybe I am!

Hard to believe that there are only 6 more weeks until school starts, but we are enjoying each day to the fullest when it comes to pool, park, and play time!  Next week is Isabel's 7th birthday so there will be plenty of pics to post I am sure!  Also, I finished a book (for those of you who know me, don't faint!) that I need to post about!  Of course, it was a nutrition book!  More to come......

Here is where we have been all week!

Check out that smile on Silas!  We have been learning about the fruits of the spirit at VBS this week...It is the Son Harvest County Fair and the kids are loving it!  Nolan told me on Monday, "Mommy, you know what the fruits of the spirit reminds me of?  We are growing tomatoes and blueberries!"  I love the thoughts that come out of his mouth these days!  What a fun summer we are having....next week we are going to VBS at the church Nolan goes to preschool!

I had to take a picture of Nolan playing with playdough.  I know you can not tell by the picture, but he is my little left brained boy.  If you look in the back of the picture you can see all of the cups lined up and he is separating the dough into equal parts and being very careful and strategic about his playing....made me laugh!

Father's day 2008

Grandpa and Silas

Even though we do not have a picture of our daddy, we spent the day with him. Isabel and Nolan went for donuts in the morning with their daddy & then we went to uncle Jason's and aunt Sheri's house for a cookout with mommy's dad!  We played with our cousins and had a great time!  What a great daddy we have........

Summer has begun

Nolan's last day of preshool with Miss Julie and Miss Dawn.  He is so excited to be in PreK with Miss Julie next year!  She is such a great teacher!

Isabel was so excited finishing first grade!  She came home screaming,"I am a second grader now!"  So hard to believe she will be in second grade.  Second grade is the grade I met my great friend Jennifer and we were BFF's all growing up!  What a great friend!  Thanks Jen for all the great memories from 2nd grade on.......

Conversations between a 4 year old and 7 year old in the car

Nolan: "Will there be a disney world in heaven?"
Isabel: "Of course!  AND it won't cost any money to go!  There will be 10 of them and God has presents waiting for us!"

Their idea of heaven..........

Nolan: "Jesus loves me!"
Isabel begins singing the song
Nolan: "Jesus loves IronMan!"

Amazing the conversations and thoughts that go through my kids heads while we are driving in the car.  They are either incredibly cute or they fight like cats and dogs in the car.

Our baby was a bit fussy and daddy was trying  to find a way to calm him.  He seemed to like to sit on daddy shoulders!  Gotta love Brad's creativity!  It is funny how some days our kids are SO excited when daddy gets home from work that they go running, but then other days they just say, "hi daddy" or say nothing.  I am VERY excited everyday when he gets home....he thinks outside of the box....like putting our 10 week old on his shoulders to calm him down!

Catch of the day.....

What a fun time we had at Timmy and Carmen's house.  Tim is a friend Brad grew up with and he and Tim have stayed close over the years.  We love his wife Carmen and enjoy spending time with them.  They have a pond in their back yard and they taught Isabel and Nolan to fish this weekend.  It was Isabel's first time fishing and she caught 7 fish in less than an hour!  She was so excited and to my surprise held the fish and was not afraid of them at all!  I do not like touching fish!

Did you know......

......that you can leave a comment?  We want you not only to know what is going on with us, but we want to know what is going on with YOU!  If you click the comments below each entry you can leave us a comment that will be posted there and it will also email it to me, so I know who is keeping up with us!  Plus, if you have something fun to say to one of our posts, we would love to know what you think....like, "Where in the world did Nolan's comment about Jesus' phone number come from?"  Just so you know, I have NO IDEA!  That is what I love about kids....they can be so random.  I love the questions!~

Today we went to the Children's Museum with Grandy, Aunt Stacey, and cousins Olivia and Logan.  The highlight was the super hero exhibit.  Both Isabel and Nolan LOVED it and want to take their daddy back to visit!

The Quote of the Day.....from Nolan (age 4)

"Excuse me mommy!"  He is interrupting Isabel telling me about their pool trip with daddy that they just returned from.......finally, I answer, "Yes, Nolan!"  Nolan says, "Do you have Jesus' phone number?"

Todays adventure with our friends, Autumn (almost 9), Levi (almost 6), and Susanna (3).  These are the kids of my great friend Laura, from high school!  I love getting our kids together.  They had so much fun picking strawberries together and playing in the mud!  Isabel( almost 7) and Nolan (4) were eating as many as they were picking!  Can you tell which ones are my kids and which ones are Laura's?

Anything ever happen to you like this?

I am sitting holding Silas (aka baby Dino) and I notice his toe is PURPLE!  I look closer and there is a little hair rapped around is precious little toe....I jump up(my heart racing), put him carefully down on the couch, and go get scissors(not sure why).  I come back and try to get the hair, that is tightly wound around is middle toe, off.  My heart is racing and I am freaking out, while big sister and brother are sitting there watching PBS and don't even move!  Being a mom, can be so scary sometimes!  Needless to say, his toe is fine and the color all came back when I got the hair removed.  Now, how does something like that happen?  Crazy!  There again FAITH....that this won't happen again in the middle of the night and have the circulation cut off for hours....although, I have NO idea how long this was wrapped around his toe this time!
I have to admit, having faith is not always easy!  We talk a lot about faith in our family in many ways each day.  Nolan (now 4) asked as we were driving down the street the other day, "Mommy, what does faith mean?"  I thought, "Hmmm, how do I explain this...."  I then proceeded to say, "It is believing in something you can not see."  I was not sure this was the dictionary definition, but that is what I always think of when I hear faith.

All this to explain our blog title.  We are full of faith in many ways.  We have talked a lot lately about promises to one another from the promise Mommy and Daddy made when we were married to the belief  and strong conviction we have that God will answer our prayers!  We prayed as a family a lot last year if we were to have another member to our family... we did not know the answer!  Now we do.  Silas was added to our family 2 months ago and now we feel complete.  With many more FAITH times ahead if us, we wanted to share this time in our lives with friends and family (since Stacey calls each day and asks when I am starting a blog)  in an attempt to stay connected as we all live in different places!

Tell us, what does FAITH mean to YOU?
